One way or another almost EVERYTHING that happened in the show was driven by either Jude's ambition or Lana's. So the 'Evil looks back' while them two broads were staring each other in the eye was a powerful visual metaphor. In fact, in the end they almost paint The Bishop as a victim of female ambition, 1st Lana, then the 'demon' then, then Lana again.
I'm not saying I agree, but the parallells are there. This is smart television folks, or to borrow Dae's phrase; Inspired.
