um, you made that clear you didn't like horror. did i miss something? because you've said that on podcasts you didn't care for horror. i think that's where people get that from.

and you know not all horror movies even come with those kinds of shocks snd scares...american horror for the most part does; foreign horror doesn't.

then you should have probably said that instead of what you said above.

also, most of the tropes you listed haven't been used that frequently in years..."scary nuns" rarely if ever because no one's throwing that up in a horror movie, but I digress.

>Am I wrong in saying that Murphy has a flair for the campy?

of course..it's Ryan Murphy. he's been campy since he did Popular. i mean, that's a given with him. It doesn't change the fact that its still done in the arena of horror and much of it was a dream sequence (Lange)...I have no issue with the camp factor (it "is" horror so unfortunately, a level of camp is to be expected). But, once again, it comes off like you're dismissing a show based on "camp" when its clear that AHS is a lot more than that (or attempts to be and for the most part, succeeds at it).

who said you weren't allowed? I didn't. And, please refrain from even hinting I did.

I simply said you came in not wanting to watch based on your own feelings regarding horror. that's it. we're on a message board. you can chime in with what you want, just like I can and am doing now.

there's nothing else to read into that. but, hey, by all means, please do. I'm not stopping you from doing that.

and that's fine. that's your choice. but, once again, you are taking issue with my post when all I simple asked was why watch, save for Ian McShane, when you don't seem all that jazzed about it...Ian's involvement or not.

but, The Walking Dead is considerably moer violent and the "jump" scares you don't care for in horror are in TWD, its just way more in your face, unsettling and way more gory....

but it comes on at 9pm, so yay for you?
