89007, Those moments felt big for Caesar, but not for me

that's all I can really say. The movie felt really anti-climactic with the bridge battle that didn't see many casualties and the police force that seemingly gave up for no reason other than utter fear. The "villain", depending on whether you want to call him Draco or Jacobs, felt like a vessel of tropes rather than a living, breathing human being. Much like the main characters, neither of them felt like they were necessary at all to the movie, they were just stereotypes shoehorned into the narrative.

I felt invested in the jail scenes and I said as much. But the rest of the movie just felt like entertaining escapist theatre, I definitely didn't walk away from the movie feeling like I just saw something I was disappointed to see end, like I did Inception or Black Swan (I don't see movies in theaters very often). And the friend I saw it with didn't have much to say about the movie either, other than he felt the same way about the movie seeming off in some way. We liked the monkies, we could have done without all the rest of it.
