As for the film itself, it never reaches the level of GREAT! but it is solid overall. There's nothing close to the opening of X2 and honestly, I don't think it's as good as Kick Ass but it's probably the second best X-Men movie because it doesn't fall apart at the end ala X-Men. There's a few too many speeches, some of the kids stuff falls flat, and there are some hokey lines but I liked it and would recommend it.
There is no post credits scene and I would refrain from reading many reviews/blog posts because the fewer spoilers the better.
