I have read that one could be in the middle of hell and still be free within. It's about being free from anything except the inner self, one's illusions and conditioning. God is love and love is not about materials, ego, conflict, power, etc. Self-esteem is self-love and self-knowledge and these things lead to true freedom. Love is freedom.
