he cleared up the detail about the phone records...saying police requested access to his actual phone and he was uncomfortable with that. he is working on giving them the phone records soon tho.

also he says he kept the rope around his neck to preserve the evidence.

this seems like a good sign. i assume if the story was fufu then he would prolly start showing cracks and backing away from it...given all of the public attention/pressure.
