I imagine it was some reference to him being gay, and knowing Common's track record before Electric Circus, he wouldn't have been shy about putting that out there.

however, on a De La album, I could see it being censored. Cats that are conscious about how some lines may not work with what the rest of what they say, may ask for that to be edited... part of the reason why that those uncensored demos from the Low End Theory were so shocking to hear.

Lest they get a response like some cats did when Nag Champa's regurgitation of an old lyric caught dudes off guard.
