It's like talking middle east politics and not bringing up Israel. Who and what you are is a major factor in the attention you get ... even more so when Prince started out.
But as I said, if you want to just go year for year Gaga isn't even remotely close to where Prince was creatively in his early 20s.
That fact I even have to spell this out is down right amazing to me really.
