It's challenging, but only in the sense you have to be somewhat aware of your gadgets (more like Batman in that sense) and use your meter for health recharges way more often than focus takedowns, which I'm fine with because you hit so hard it's just two combos for non-Sable baddies anyway.


But being able to ignore the repetitive side content because you've already done it and NG+'s only trophies are beating it and beating it on Ultimate really makes it clear how much of a breeze (in terms of momentum and execution) the regular campaign is. Even the throwaway stuff like the story-critical hacking challenges are just great at telling the story through alternate styles of gameplay (I also still think the stealth sections are perfectly fine).

Between this game and Spider-Verse (rope in Homecoming on VOD and Infinity War in theaters if you want), 2018 really might've been the best year for Spider-Man fans in decades.
