All of your Weekly Milestones grant "Powerful Gear" which will be 1 or 2 items that are ~10 LL above your current highest level.
These include:
- Flashpoint (Public Events on a specified planet)
- Call to Arms (Crucible participation)
- Nightfall
If you're in a clan, there are different clan objectives that also grant powerful drops.
Beyond that, Exotic engrams drop at values above your current light level.
