Unlike a lot of people, I actually thought Taken King was kind of overwhelming with all the changes and Destiny wasn't as useful for me as a passive, solo, podcast backlog experience. I'd played Destiny practically on a schedule since its release, but two weeks after its most popular, substantive release yet I was deleting it from my hard drive.

It was also off-putting how the game kept leaving people like me out of the best stuff; I could only play easy mode Prison of Elders, soloing Nightfalls was almost always a nightmare, Crucible was something I only ever played begrudgingly, etc. I hear they're taking steps to make the passive community feel more included in the endgame loot, at least until the hard mode raid drops, but I don't know.

It's strange but I'm more nostalgic for the days when I could just do daily bounties and missions for all three character classes every day, have both subclasses on all three at max level and know I wasn't really accomplishing anything but I was leading my fireteam in kills every strike and maximizing my speed on certain missions to just a couple of minutes than I am excited for all the new things there'd be waiting there for me between the continued development of Taken King and Rise of Iron dropping today.

Might actually wait for a discount on this one around Christmas. I do feel an itch for Destiny, but NBA 2K just dropped, it's been a year and a half and I still got half of The Witcher 3 to complete (and then the 50 hours of DLC...) and I've got several other little things in the backlog so it just doesn't seem practical.
