(maybe it's different in competitions, I haven't really watched esports)
you're tied to the competitor's POV.
I loved it when PGR3 had a built-in TV system and you could watch from anywhere on the track, etc.
now games are like "go use twitch" and it's not really made to spectate, although RTS, moba and fighting games don't have a problem.
