I haven't even played the game yet.
She still gave it a 9 out of 10 so the outrage is, of course with gamers, not even that justified.
If gaming entertainment is going to looked at as an art medium, a theme and a message should be up to the standard as your favorite TV show, movie or album (unless you love shitty entertainment).
Also, with such a story driven game such as GTA, I'm thinking it comes from a credible place. How many times have lesser games gotten that treatment (the story, themes, plot) and had more points knocked off for it?
Again. I haven't played it so I can't say if I can agree or disagree. But this is a reviewer that probably plays ten times as many games as us because it's her job.
And considering the tritagonist angle they're going for, I bet the themes jumbled at that intersection between those three characters.
